Salfords Village Hall Foodbank collection Point

Salfords Village Hall continues with foodbank collection point

Salfords and Sidlow Parish Council has set up Salfords village hall as a Foodbank donation point to enable those wishing to donate food and welfare supplies. Volunteers collect the donations and distribute to the local Foodbanks,

During these difficult times, the Foodbanks across the borough have seen a sharp rise in client numbers but also a significant drop in donations. As the Parish Council we want to be able to help, so will be opening Salfords village hall on weekday mornings to be a drop off centre.

If most households could donate a few items from their shopping to help feed those who are seriously struggling, it would make a huge difference.

Salfords Village Hall will be open weekday mornings
Monday to Thursday from 10am to midday
to receive donations.

Thank you to our amazing community who joined us at Salfords Village Hall for the Christmas lights being switched on Friday the 29th of November. We were honoured to have Revd Canon Dr James Rosenthal (Father Jim) to switch on our lights. Thank you to Emma, Sarah and Neha for running the Christmas stalls and to the fantastic A2Z Flute Choir for providing the music.

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC), has accredited Salfords and Sidlow Parish Council with the Quality Gold Award. for the Local Council Awards Scheme. We submitted our application in May. Receiving the Quality Gold Award is an excellent achievement showing that our local parish council achieves good practices in governance, community engagement and council improvement. Furthermore, this award shows that our council has gone above and beyond the legal obligations; we lead our community and continuously seek opportunities to improve and develop even further. We are very proud of this achievement and plan to continue to develop and work with our community to obtain the best outcomes for what is wanted in our villages.
