BBC Radio 4 Any Questions? comes to Salfords village hall

21 May 2024

Thanks to all residents who attended the Parish Council hosting the BBC.

Salfords and Sidlow Parish Council will be hosting BBC Radio 4 Any Questions which is part of their 50th birthday celebrations. The Parish Council made their application in 2023 and have now been chosen which is a great opportunity for us all to showcase Salfords and Sidlow.

The event will be on Friday 27 September at Salfords village hall with the show airing at 8pm. Doors open at 6.30pm and close at 7.15pm to give time for questions to be registered, reviewed and chosen. We do not know who will be on the panel until a few days before but what a great opportunity for our locality.

It will be a free ticketed event (first come, first serve basis )and you can obtain your ticket(s) from the link below from 10 June.

Thank you to our amazing community who joined us at Salfords Village Hall for the Christmas lights being switched on Friday the 29th of November. We were honoured to have Revd Canon Dr James Rosenthal (Father Jim) to switch on our lights. Thank you to Emma, Sarah and Neha for running the Christmas stalls and to the fantastic A2Z Flute Choir for providing the music.

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC), has accredited Salfords and Sidlow Parish Council with the Quality Gold Award. for the Local Council Awards Scheme. We submitted our application in May. Receiving the Quality Gold Award is an excellent achievement showing that our local parish council achieves good practices in governance, community engagement and council improvement. Furthermore, this award shows that our council has gone above and beyond the legal obligations; we lead our community and continuously seek opportunities to improve and develop even further. We are very proud of this achievement and plan to continue to develop and work with our community to obtain the best outcomes for what is wanted in our villages.
