Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding is paid for from all new residential and retail development. Reigate and Banstead Borough Council (R&BBC) collect the levy and they pass a proportion of CIL receipts (15%) to the parish council from developments that take place in our area.

The purpose of the CIL is for the parish council to spend the funds to support development and growth of the area. We need to spend the money within 5 years of receipt or the funds need to be returned to R&BBC.

The Parish Council has been reviewing opportunities, considering the funds available and looking at feedback received to date from residents on how to spend the CIL funding. The priority areas identified are:

1. Outdoor space and activity for families
2. Community safety
3. Community centres
